Follow the footsteps of refugees and people seeking asylum in this simulated experience. You’ll experience the journey of a refugee and gain a better understanding of the challenges they face as they arrive in Australia.
Tours are delivered by guides with ‘lived experience’ from a range of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. Throughout the tour you’ll hear stories and experience what it’s like to flee your country and try to find safety.
The Refugee Camp in My Neighbourhood Project is a community project that has been running since 2014, co-design by refugee community members and involving over 30 project partners.
The project will be delivered between 29 July – 15 August 2024 at the Whitlam Institute within Western Sydney University (Parramatta South campus).
